I hope you are enjoying your summer. We want to start a new series highlighting site members so you get a little better glimpse at the parents who volunteer their time to make this community a warm, safe place for you. Today, we are highlighting Nicole Miller, who is not only one of my favorite people but she also volunteers to make sure everyone feel welcome.
Name? Nicole Miller
Screen Name? NMiller77
Blog Name? Living My New Normal
Where were you born? Baltimore MD (both my boys were born at the same hospital I was.)
Where do you Live? outside of Baltimore in the Burbs
What brought you to SHARE? My son Scott died when he was 14 days old. He was born at 37 weeks after I had went to L&D for no fetal movement. They got him moving but still induced out of precaution. He was born without a working brain. I was looking for someone anyone who could maybe relate to what I was going through...and I found it.
What is the one thing about yourself that you would like people to know? I love to help others. I love being with my family they are the most important thing to me. I also can talk too much, too loud, and too quickly. It's in my genes my whole family is that way.
What do you do for fun? Hang out with my family and friends, read, do my hobbies.
Which is your favorite book/movie? Movie: Under the Tuscan Sun, The Holiday, and Valentines Day. ( the one with Ashton Kutcher not the horror one. ) Book: I like books that are about history especially WWII. Lately I've been reading about the fantastic females that did amazing things during and after the war. Atomic City girls was really good currently reading Rise of the Rocket Girls.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? The beach.,, Anywhere that gives me a view of the water from my house. I could sit out on my porch and just relax and enjoy the view. My husband and I have a pact that one day he will buy me a house on the water and I will buy him a boat. =)
What is your dream career and why? That's a toughy...I joke I am still trying to figure out what I want to be when I grow up. I was a teacher and love working with kids. I guess to be able to teach without all the government rules etc. getting in the way...or working for a non profit would be cool. I love helping others and enjoy my volunteer work with the March of Dimes.
What do you do when you have down time? Knit, Quilt, play board games with my family. Proud moment I just finished a queen size sampler quilt that I sewed mostly by hand (it has taken quite a few years to accomplish).
