November is Prematurity Awareness Month. I am pleased to say that after decades of increases, the rate of premature birth in the United States has now been on a steady decline for the last several years.
Pledge Purple for Preemies
We’d like to invite you to join us in the fight against premature birth by pledging purple for preemies. When you join the thousands of people who have already taken the pledge, you’ll receive everything you need to raise awareness as we gear up for World Prematurity Day, which is coming up on Nov 17. Help us give more babies the chance to be born healthy by encouraging your friends and family to take the pledge as well.
Share what you are doing
What are you doing to recognize Prematurity Awareness Month? Maybe you are visiting a NICU, holding a walk, wearing purple, posting on Facebook or Twitter, attending a conference, or lighting a candle. Whatever it is, we want to know: do you have any special plans in honor of this month? What are they? Find out what others are doing and share your own thoughts and activities.
We help moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies. And if something goes wrong, we offer information and comfort to families. We research the problems that threaten our babies and work on preventing them.
