Ever since the last time I posted it has been something. Friday I got to see my boys & it was so good! My 3yr old is now talking like an actual 3yr old & full sentences!!! I am missing out on SO much!!! But the visit was real good! Yesterday was baby shower day & boy what a surprise we had yesterday!!! I received the best present possible for my shower....MY BABY EDEN!!!! A severe contraction had woken me up around 5ish & a few minutes later I went to use the bathroom only to find my pad full of blood. Then I realized that what I had thought it was a dream before or after the contraction was true, I HAD felt something gushing out. I had my boyfriend call the nurse & she came in & helped me back to the bed. I had been so excited because Thursday I had finally gotten pants to wear & here I'm being told it had to come off, I was so sad. The doc on call told me they will be bringing me down to Labor & Delivery to watch me closely & she was then told what the doc taking my OB's place had said to the nurse....that if I bled one more time that would be it & the baby would be delivered....BUT apparently it was never put on my chart so they had no idea what to do. I was brought downstairs to a really nice room with ambient color changing lights (3 or 4) & then I was hooked up to the monitor & then we waited. I was on & off dozing off because of the lights but then the crazy doc that had made me cry last month came & she sat down in front of me & we had a talk. She decided that if ANYTHING came out that was NOT brown colored, she would deliver me because they just have had it with the heavy bleeding. A few minutes after she walked away I felt more stuff come out & it wasn't brown, it was red.....SO they started to prep me for surgery! It was about 9am I believe now. I went into panic because surgeries always get me so nervous & scared. BUT that day just so happened that my boyfriend was off because of the baby shower & he was with me to experience everything & not miss anything.
I consider yesterday "Needle Day" because of how many needles pricked me!!! The nurses & doctors were hysterical, they kept making us laugh in my room as we waited for a few things & they prepped for everything. They were shocked at the fact I mentioned I'm a Jersey girl & I have NEVER gone clubbing or to a bar, they couldn't believe it. In the OR as they prepped before they let my boyfriend in, I started to freak out again but quietly. The guy doctor/nurse told me my heart rate was off the charts & that I need to calm down & take deep breaths, that everything will be alright. I nodded & started doing just what he said & then my boyfriend came in & I felt much better. We started talking about the new place & what we will do with it & how we will arrange it & decorate it & almost right away they announce the birth of Eden! It was super quick! Quicker than my second son's section! Then the doc said she had a lot of sewing to do because she accidentally cut a whole in my uterus & then she also had to tie my tubes. we spent almost an hour there doing all that stuff.
Eden Laurelle was born at 10:04am, weighed exactly 6lbs, she was born at 35 weeks & a day, & finally she measured 20 1/4!!!She's currently in the NICU & will be there for a little while....so this is all new to me. By 1:30 or 2 I was back upstairs in my room & we decided the shower would still happen. About 8-9 people showed up, people I hadn't seen in a long time. I told them where it would be, in the conference room & before they went there we spoke in my room & to those that didn't know, I broke the news she was born in the morning & told them what had happened. Somewhere between 4:30 & 5:30 I felt bad that I was still in the room while everyone waited in the conference room so I asked the nurse I had if I could join them for a little bit so I can enjoy myself with friends & enjoy my shower a little. They let me! I sat on the wheelchair & parked right at the door inside. We started opening presents right away because the nurse gave me 30-45mins before I went back to my room, I had so much fun around them & watching my boys. I believe I spent more than 45mins with everybody but I was truly happy. I thanked everyone for coming & apologized for the shower starting late & for having it turn to a birthday celebration. I went back to my room to relax after everyone left & was so thankful everything went good. I spent a bit more time with my boys before they left & was thankful for that as well. Later on, around 9 or 10 my boyfriend came back & we decided to go see her at the NICU. He had met her in the OR but I only got a glimpse of her on her way out the door, so I wanted to see her real bad. Even tho I felt like I was falling asleep on the spot, I got up & we went down together to see her.
Goodness!!!! SHE'S SO DANG PRETTY!!!!! She looks just like him & she has a head full of hair!!! We couldn't believe that little angel in front of us was ours & that we were finally able to see her, meet her, & touch her. We took a few pictures & spent a decent amount of time with her & then went back upstairs & got ready for bed. Even tho I took a sleeping pill I couldn't sleep due to pain, discomfort, I was shaking severely a few times because I felt freezing, had a small fever, & apparently painful muscle spams!! Today my boyfriend went to work early & was told to leave at 1 & that he could take the next 3 days off so he can spend time with me & our baby girl!! We were so happy!! Today I have felt more sleepy than usual & I have been fighting my eyes all day, even right now as I update everyone....my eyes are closing! Hahaha. I have also used the breast pump to help stimulate whenever I can & even tho no milk is coming out, I see drops on my nipples & I'm told to not give up, to keep on trying. We went to see her as soon as he got here from work a few hours ago & we may go back later on tonight. Right now he's snoring & I'm about to rest too.
I will keep everyone updated & I thank everyone for your support!!!
Congratulations on Eden's arrival! I'm happy to read that she arrived so big and healthy, even though she was a little earlier than you expected. You did a great job keeping her growing! I'm glad you got to go to your baby shower. How special that it ended up being on Eden's birthday! I hope Eden's NICU stay is short and uneventful and that you will be bringing her home very soon. Please keep us posted when you can.
