Going home with feeding assistance

My baby boy was born 6 weeks early with a lot of respiratory issues. He was finally taken off oxygen and no other issues for the past 3 weeks. But he just will not get the hang of eating. His due date passed on the 25th of this month and they are talking about doing surgery on him to assist with his feeding tell he finally gets it if we are still here in 2 weeks. How common is this? It’s our only issue he is doing great other than this.

MOD recently launched a program to partner NICU moms who are in different spots within their journey. Here is the link if you are interested. www.facebook.com/.../
  • Hello and welcome. I'm not sure of specific statistics with feeding issues like this one specifically, but I do know that general feeding issues are fairly common in the preemie community. Sending you so much strength as you baby works to meet this milestone.
