Giving birth, spending time in the NICU and bringing home a new baby are a lot of work! You may feel tired and overwhelmed. You’ve had many things to adjust to and learn about in the past few days and weeks.

Remember, you are not alone. You can call your baby’s health care provider with questions. And you can ask family members, friends and neighbors for help.

Connecting with your baby at home
Each day, you will learn more about your baby. You will learn what she likes and dislikes, and what helps soothe and calm her. Spend a lot of time holding, feeding, talking and singing to your baby. This teaches her to trust you and other people. You cannot spoil your baby! Babies thrive on love and attention.
