Hi I’m new to the group but looking for a little help answers and support. I have 2 beautiful baby girls that were born at 36 weeks and 38weeks. It took us 5 years between the 2 for us to get our second. So we were very surprised when 2 years later we were pregnant again! Our hopes were for a little boy. Everything was going great until I went for my anatomy scan at 19weeks.(the baby was a boy!!!!) but…. My cervix was open I was dilated to a 3.5 and the membrane sac was protruding. They rushed me for an emergent cerclage at 21w6d I went to the hospital with bad contractions and bleeding which kind you the contractions never showed on the monitor. I was dilated to a 2 through the cerclage they took the stitch out and he was born just 2 hours later. Weighing only 15oz he only survived for 2 hours. I don’t understand how I had 2 healthy pregnancies then this happens. We want to eventually try again but I’m so scared. The dr said I would get a cerclage early to try to prevent this from happening again. But my question is has this happened to any of you and was the second time a success. I honestly don’t think I could handle losing a baby again.
I just experienced this same thing a week ago only I wasn’t able to get the cerclage. I was 20 weeks and 4 days and my son passed away. I was told if I got pregnant again they would do the cerclage early in the pregnancy but I’m worried about even trying again
