On August 12, 2021, my once 13 ounce baby was discharged. On March 24, 2021 I birthed a 13 ounce baby. Today she is almost 14 pounds, she thinks she is the boss, and she will probably walk before the end of the month. My life changed as as I continue to blog on my personal site: www.thisthingcalledlifebyki.com; I realize that our NICU journeys are not for the babies; they are for us. I've conquered patience. I understand unconditional love. I have mastered the art of solitude. I have embraced all of my emotions. When I need a moment to cry, I do this. When I need a moment to praise God, I praise Him. When I need to just sit and reflect, I take moments to do this.
Sedinam, like all of our NICU babies are placed here to teach us. They will only know about their journey because of us. They will learn through our journals, our pictures. Their resistance and tenacity to live teaches us and we should always remember this.
As I continue to countdown and share my lessons, I challenge everyone to think of those key lessons that your little miracle taught you and share them with Sedi and I @ lovelettersforsedinam@gmail.com
Her story always gives me hope, and reminds me of faith:https://www.tennessean.com/videos/life/family/2021/04/19/13-ounce-preemie-baby-opens-her-eyes-mom/7093828002/
