The conference went well with C's preschool teacher. Everything she said he needs to work on I agreed with. It was not brought up to consider holding him back which makes me think she was a bit premature the first time telling me to do so in December. One of the things he needs to work on is his interaction with classmates. He is used to playing by himself since he is the only one at home or having everyone gravitate towards him and do what he wants to do. ( my family he has wrapped around his finger) So I found out that even if you aren't part of the enrichment program that they have after school you can pay just for one day. so on Wednesdays he is going to start staying after school and eat lunch and do activities. I figure it will help him get used to a little longer day and eating lunch at school like he will do next year. It will also encourage him to interact with his classmates more.
It does make me feel sometimes like if Scott would have lived he would have been better at interacting with others because he would be doing it at home and sharing attention with everyone in the family. But I also know that I can't undo what happened and this is the family dynamic we were given. just another one of those if things were different.....
But then again C has always been independent so it may not have made a difference. he was that baby who liked being on his playmate kicking his feet than being held.
We were told that he has improved greatly at writing his name...umm yeah cuz I showed him the correct way to do it. She also said he has great cutting skills. So the conference I was so dreading turned out okay.
Now for the weather we are under another winter storm warning...I need to come live with any share friends that live in a warm environment.
Glad the conference went well. It's nice that one day a week he will be able to spend a full day at Pre-School. As for the weather as much as I would love to have a roomie the weather here isn't any better. We are also under a winter storm warning. You might try Samantha, she loves to send me her 80 degree forecasts. :) I keep telling her I need new friends. I hope the popcorn sales are going well and Team Popcorn is doing well.
Hugs,
Jami
