When we made the decision that we weren't going to have any more children I told my husband then we were going to travel and "see the world" and give C as many life experiences as we were able. Because we have only one living child we are able to travel a little more then if raising two. So this past week my hubby had to travel to Texas for work and we were able to tag along. It was fun and it was also something new for me. I love to travel and try things but I usually don't do it unless another travel companion is with me. So for me to sight see around Texas with just Colin was a huge step for me. I even drove a rental car around town on my own one day. I am working really hard at pushing myself out of my comfort zone and doing things that are new for me. This was a major one. I was full of anxiety about driving around on my own but I made myself do it and we had a blast! I have always been a worrier and had a bit of anxiety but when Scott died it made it a lot worse. But I refuse to let it keep me from living my life.
C really enjoyed getting to see "true" Texan things such as cattle drives. and he loves his new cowboy hat.
Woohoo for some time away in Texas! You go girl with your car rental and pard-ner. Love the cowboy hat:) C looks like he was having a great time with his mommy:) High five to you for pushing yourself to do another something outside of your comfort zone.
Hugs,
Lindsay
Yay for big steps!!!! That's quite a cute companion you have there!! I'm the same way with exploring on my own. To be honest, Share allowed me my first experience of exploring and I liked it so much, I do it every year!! Hope the adventures continue!!
