I decided after years of avoiding facebook to create a facebook page for Team Popcorn. So if you want to check it out:
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Team-Popcorn/222430854625863
We hope this will help our team raise even more money since so many people we know are on facebook.
We went to the kickoff breakfast on Friday and it was tougher than I thought it would be. The hard part was when they gave a statistic for number of babies who die in a given time. Reality hit that my baby was one of those numbers. and it just made me sad. althoughtwe support the MOD because we want to help families and want babies to be healthy it's hard to hear the stories sometime of the babies who got to come home. It's bittersweet you feel happy but at the same time sad for yourself.
But the breakfast gave me ideas for the team one being the facebook page. We also got to meet a gentleman who had been walking since the early seventies. He just walks because he believes in the mission of the MOD. He was funny and a joy to talk too.
Yay again for Team Popcorn being on Facebook. I know exactly what you mean regarding the whole statistic thing. I read a newspaper article in our area that gave the number of babies who had died in 2008 and knowing that my daughter was one of them was a really hard pill to swallow. Although the pain of seeing other 23 weekers go home has lessened it can still make me feel sad knowing that "they" were the lucky ones and we were not. It makes me question how the pecking order works and who decides who stays and who goes. Sending you and team popcorn lots of money raising happy vibes.
