Share Your Story

I am very fortunate to have a large support group of family and friends that continue to be there even when it's almost a year later. Today as many of you know is not an easy day and I am quite proud of myself for surviving my first mother's day since Scott was born. But it actually was a good day and a special one because my loving son C and my husband along with everyone else that is a part of my life made sure of it. I was awoken by my little chef who declared himself to be chef dale( of the chip and dale duo on disney) complete in his chef apron and hat. he escorted me to the table where we had chocolate chip waffles ( the chef knows my fondness for chocolate), fruit salad and tea. I received a beautiful butterfly necklace and flowers. All day I received messages via text, email, phone calls of people just checking in letting me know that they are thinking of me and there if needed. I was thinking to myself that I am lucky to have such a great support system who will know a day is going to be hard and step up and be there if needed. I was listening to music while working on my quilt when a Celtic women song came on titled, "You lift up" and realized that is what everyone has been doing. They've been lifting me up so I can carry on. There are many things I have and still struggle with on a daily basis and all the first holidays have been tough. I have not yet been ready to give my heart back to God but I have found comfort in those who are such an important part of my life and just are there. They don't try to give empty words they just let me know they are there for whatever is needed. So today was good I never know what to expect anymore or how my emotions are going to be I'm learning to just see what each day brings. I hope that you all were able to have someone lift you up today and be there for you. that you found comfort somewhere in your day.
