I got a call a little while ago from the Principal and he told me that they decided to go with another candidate, a native speaker. How can I compete with that? I have a feeling it was the woman after me who was waiting to interview. He told me that I was high on their list and that I had a strong interview, but no go. So, at least I know. I had actually forgotten about it until the phone rang and saw that it was a particular area code. Sigh. I applied to another district, but our timeline is narrowing a bit. I may have to put it on the back burner again for another year. At least my husband has a contract and the sales tax vote was approved yesterday. I'll find out soon whether or not I am asked back to teach anything in my current school district and go from there. It's just strange. I had envisioned this year so differently. I was going to take a year off and be home with all three kiddos and then I lost my baby. I had so many restless and sleepness nights agonizing whether to work or stay home before it all happened. I finally had made up my mind and I was so READY for it all. Ironic. My year off was not how I imagined and it does sting when I am asked if I am enjoying my time and how it must be nice. I guess I'll continue to look for some part-time work and just see what happens. I'm sad that my kiddo can't go to Kindergarten and that he missed the cut off in my state. He's so ready, but I guess he'll just be one of the smartest kids in his class. My husband is almost done with his semester teaching and then he'll be taking a school group of students to Europe with one of those travel companies. It's a nice sized group and he's got a few parents going along. I wish that I could go too, but I know I'll get an opportunity at some point in the future. This whole traveling thing was not supposed to be in the cards, but when our plans changed, we felt that it was time for one of us to take a trip. We needed something to focus on, you know?
