Yesterday, I called the peds' offices: one for D and one for T to schedule flu shots and a wellness appt. The boys used to see the same pediatrician, but with T's diagnosis, they don't take Medicaid patients. That was well over 2 years ago. Now, I was more than happy to find someone new for T because that doctor dismissed my concerns of delayed ST and "odd" behaviors. We missed out on early intervention because of that guy! Fine, I'm cool with spending more taxpayer money. Even though I have my opinions about this guy, I kept him for D. He has been seeing the same doctor since he was born. He had come home from the NICU in mid-December and I was calling this office to see when I could bring him in to get his wee wee snipped. The doctor's nurse was really nice and spoke a little German too. So I'm scheduling appts and then I'm told that D's pediatrician is no longer associated with the practice. What?! I chose another doctor, one we'd seen a different time years ago, and just thought... I wonder what happened?
Well, that question got answered this morning when I turned on the news! Yep, there he was! He started his own practice and now has a mobile unit! This guy is so into Disney characters, one in particular. Those ties he wore always bothered me. It's so weird. My hubby just laughed as this kind of thing happens to me all the time. It is a little freaky. Maybe it's just coincidence and all, but I really should play the lottery or something. Tonight's jackpot is 252 million and growing!
T got his flu mist and got through it. He had it last year and was fine. He freaked out when he saw the BP cuff though. Got to love the high pitched scream:) At his peds office, we waited for a few minutes. I was handed that paper to sign and then asked if I could get one "en ingles?" They gave me one in Spanish. Seriously, every single time our name is called in a waiting room, I stand up, but the health assistant keeps looking beyond me. She's probably thinking no, it can't be this lady. She's too white. Okay, there is an entire country called Spain with people who have blond hair and blue eyes. You can be Spanish and be light colored. I'm not Spanish, but hubby's side is. Shoot, and I thought I needed to get out more?! Okay, I just need to get my hands on some chocolate and I'll be okay. Come on Halloween!
Oh Lindsay, you crack me up! Such adventures for the Vazquez family. My girls had the flu mist as well -- didn't feel like going through the whole needle experience with two drama queens. :)
Tell my little buddies I said hello. And many hugs to you.
This post made me literally laugh out loud. One of the offices I used to work at got a new pediatrician about 2 years ago and he collects action figures. I admit it was really strange in my opinion for a grown man to have an office covered in action figures. Lol.
