I feel so blessed to report that we got good news today at my 20 week sono w/ the perinatologist. Basically, the long and short of it is that the baby looked great! You all know how it goes...the sono tech does the sonogram fist...but she can't tell you if things look good or bad, she can only tell you what exactly is on the screen. So, when she was doing the sono...Bruno and I (being the sono reading experts that we are - lol) happened to notice a couple of things that we never saw with Marco: the stomach, and one of Little Foot's hands opening...so we were feeling pretty good about things. Then the peri came in. He's a good guy, we both felt comfortable with him last time. Today he was definitely keeping us on pins and needles until the end. He started reviewing all my records and asking us lots of questions about the outcome of my pregnancy with Marco. Then he started scanning the baby and looking at a few areas with a lot of detail. Probably a good 15 minutes or so passed by. Then he FINALLY said..."well, I'm really happy with the baby...the baby looks good". Oh the relief! Anyway - that's the story of how it went down today. The peri is going to have me come back to his office for a repeat sono in 4 weeks just to make sure that the growth and anatomy still look appropriate, which I feel very comfortable with. It kind of feels a little surreal at this point. It's one thing to be hopeful and optimistic, but it's another to have concrete evidence that things are looking good. I know that I still have 19ish weeks and a delivery to get through...but today was a major hurdle, and so we are celebrating today. We're going to continue to just take things one step at a time :) Thank you all of you, my SHARE friends for being so amazingly supportive so far through this pregnancy. You have all helped me remain mostly sane thus far! Marco - oh my little love, I know you were smiling down on us in a very special way today. I remember very vividly seeing you on that sono machine, swimming in my belly. We love you so much angel! I tried to attached sono pics, but I'm too tired, and it's too late, and the pics were too big to attach the way we scanned them...so I will try to get them up soon. In the meantime, here's one of LF in my belly!
