Growing up I had many dreams about having a family of my own. I never imagine how hard that journey would be.
My first son,Jadon was born at 34 weeks after my water broke. He spent 7 days in the NICU we he received Surfactant to help improve his lungs. Today he is 12 years old and still struggles with respiratory issues. Two years later we got the unexpected blessing, we were pregnant again. At our 20 week ultrasound we got the news every parents fear. There was something wrong with our baby. We spent weeks going to specialist trying to figure out what was going on. At 25 weeks developed severe preeclampsia. I was rushed to a hospital an hour away. Our daughter Trinity was born but sadly passed away shortly after her birth. Six years later and a miscarriage, We got pregnant with our son Jaxson. I received 17-p shots to help get me to full term. At 32 weeks Jaxson arrived after doing into distress. Jaxson also received Surfactant therapy during he 16 day NICU stay. Thankfully he is now a happy health four year old.
I am beyond thank for the work that has been done by the March of Dimes. It gave my boys a fighting chance.
